The FREEDOM Range of TeNS Machines Manages Labour Pain and Combats PostNatal Continence Problems at Affordable Prices

YourHealthCentre.co.uk (http://www.yourhealthcentre.co.uk), a Warwick-basedonline supplier of domestic pain management products, is introducing a rangeof TeNS machines specifically designed for use before, during and afterchildbirth at prices which allow customers to buy instead of renting.

There are two models in the FREEDOM range of TeNS machines. The FREEDOM Plus offers the facility to control labour pain and, after the birth, helps re-educate lost muscle tone in the pelvic floor muscles which can prevent continence problems that commonly occur after childbirth. This is achievedby combining an internal electrode and carefully designed programmes to rebuild the muscular strength in the pelvic floor. The FREEDOM Plus costs just £49.99.

The basic FREEDOM unit offers easy-to-use touch controls and a set of programmes perfectly suited to managing labour pain, which can also be used after the birth for general pain management. The cost of the complete kit is £29.99.

TeNS has been accepted as a valid method of pain management in labour for many years. Currently, most women who choose to use TeNS rent machines at a cost of £22 to £30 for around a six week period. While this is adequate for many women, some suffer post-birth pain problems after the rented machine has been returned. The low price of FREEDOM makes dealing with these pain issues an affordable option for most women.

Managing director of YourHealthCentre.co,uk, Richard Cockayne, says: “By setting the price of the TeNS machines at a level where it become more sensible to buy rather than rent, we are expecting significant interest from mothers who recognise the longer term benefits of trying to manage pain without drugs and, in turn, reducing the possible side effects for their newborn children.”

About YourHealthCentre.co.uk

Yourhealthcentre.co.uk is a sub-brand of YourWelcome. Established over 15 years ago, the company has significant experience in domestic medical products that use electronic stimulation. It was one of the first companies to introduce TeNS to the over the counter consumer market. In addition to TeNS devices for general pain control, it stocks anti-snoring products and lung trainers.

About TeNS

TeNS operates by reducing the transmission of pain signals to the brain: if the brain does not receive pain signals, then the pain sensation is suppressed. In the case of muscular re-education, the electrical signals cause muscle contraction. The careful design of the programme contracts, holds and relaxes the muscles in a manner similar to physical exercise so the muscles develop and strengthen. Women appreciate TENS as a form of pain relief as it gives them a feeling of being in control.
