How Long Do GU10 LED Bulbs Last?

October 12, 2012

GU10 LED bulbs SHOULD last between 40,000 and 50,000 hours, which under normal usage will equate to many years of service. However these figures assume a high standard of components used in manufacturing as there is more to a GU10 lamps than just an LED! Poor quality LED products will often fail very prematurely due not to any problem with the actual LED but rather with the control circuitry behind it. The most common complaint is the use of low cost capacitors

Hi Frank,

Not a good experience and I understand your frustration, our 4W equivalent lamps are less expensive and we guarantee them for 3 years, we can do this as our manufacturer supports this warranty. We uphold this to the customer as we keep permanent order records of all products we sell, so you would not need a receipt if we can verify the purchase. We have very low faliure rates
on Maxilux and Toshiba lamps, I have mainly Maxilux in my home some of which have been installed over 4 years and still going strong.
