What size and type of unit do you need?

Clearly if you have a small room your requirements will be very different to a restaurant or conservatory so to help you choose we have prepared a summary of all units with an honest guide to strengths and weaknesses - if you have a need which falls outside this listing please call us as we now have access to the full Fujitsu range of products. Size really does matter - if the unit is too small it's a waste of time whilst if it's too big you will get temperature swings and the running costs will be higher than necessary.

Wall Split systems

Standard - the most popular style where the compressor is located outside the building and connected to the head unit with insulated copper pipes. Simple to install and economical to run, they are available in a range of sizes ranging from 12000 btu to 24000 btu. All have both heating and cooling.

Inverter - by using a DC motor an inverter system offers a variable fan speed which means more accurate temperature control, quieter running and lower running costs. These systems are particularly suited to bedrooms where the almost silent operation is particularly important. The advanced vent design of our systems means that when cooling the cold air blows out towards the ceiling and then naturally falls, whilst when heating the outlet is towards the floor from where is naturally rises - this gives a more even coverage. .

Portable & floor mounted

Portable units have the advantage of not requiring installation - simply plug them in and they will work. They are generally noisier than the split systems and they operate best if you can vent them outside - this is to allow the hot air to be removed from the room. The condensate (water) is stored in an internal resevoir which is periodically emptied. The floor mounted systems are best used in environments where it is not convenient to have a head unit mounted high up - for example in a conservatory where there is a dwarf wall.

Multi Head

Multi head units are perfect for multiple rooms or large rooms.  They allow up to 4 internal units to be connected to a single outdoor unit. The sophiscated design of the outdoor unit with multiple compressors, means that simultaneous heating and cooling is possible. The capacity of the indoor units can be different as long as the cumulative total does not exceed the rating of the external unit. These systems do tend to be more expensive than wall splits but running costs will be lower. All ours are A rated inverter systems.
