Standard Recessed Downlights

Downlights are a popular choice in modern homes because of the low-profile, sleek look that they offer. Recessed downlights are ideal for a variety of domestic and commercial settings including areas with a low ceiling and for creating directional beams for task or feature lighting. We supply both open and closed-back standard downlights in a selection of finishes so that you can make a design choice in your property. Closed-back downlights are fire-rated and prevent the spread of fire and smoke because they seal. It may be necessary to use fireproof downlights in your property to comply with building regulations. Our fireproof standard downlights are either fixed or tilting. The tilting downlights have an adjustable gimbal assembly inside to allow the lamp to tilt. This allows you to control the direction of the beam of light. Both fixed and tilting varieties come in chrome, satin and white.

Open-back standard downlights leave the lamp connections exposed in the ceiling cavity. They are supplied with a lampholder and connecting block and are suitable for use with either a GU10 or MR16 lamp, you just need to choose which version you prefer when you are making your purchase. Standard fixed downlight fittings are available in chrome, satin, brass or white. We also have standard tilt downlight fittings that allow the lamp to be tilted. These are available in chrome or satin.

We also offer the Maxilux Integra Integrated LED Downlight which produces a powerful light, equivalent to a 100w halogen lamp. These LED downlights have no start up time and provide a wide 120 degree angle beam. The Maxilux recessed downlight is fully dimmable and comes in either warm or cool white. These downlights are designed to be long lasting: the lamp can last for years.
