Waterproof Downlighters for Use in Bathrooms

Show advice [-]
Why go for a 'shower rated fitting'? Shower fittings have a glass front and a rubber seal to reduce the possibility of water and moisture getting into the fitting, called and IP65 rating.

Ideal for use in bathrooms and over the kitchen sink or cooking areas which may get a lot of steam rising. Giving you the knowledge you are not only protecting your property but yourself and your family by reducing any risk of harm.

They come in a variety of finishes and will match any other non IP65 rated fittings you may have in the same area.

All of our shower lights are IP65 rated die-cast downlighter specifically designed for use in bathroooms, shower cubicles, communal baths and showers, (zones 1,2,& 3) , kitchens and exterior soffits.

Bathroom Zoning:

Zone 0: - Is the area inside a bath or shower. A minimum of IP67 is required.
Zone 1: The area directly above a bath or shower up to a hieght of 2.25m. Use min IP65
Zone 2 : The area over a bath tub or shower tray 60cm above zone 1
Zone 3 : The area external to the above zones. Use IP20.

Do you have to use Fireproof fittings?- Basically if you are doing anything which requires compliance with building regulations (which obviously includes and new build or alterations requiring planning permission) then you MUST use fireproof fittings - anything else will not be compliant.
