Using LED lamps in the kitchen If you're considering LED lighting in yourkitchen then it's important to get the right lamp. If you have ceiling mounted downlighters then they shouldn't be more than 1m apart as otherwise you might experience a "spotted" effect on the floor, however our toprange lamps such as ZENIGATA, 6w Brilliance of All Purpose lamps have been chosen to provide a wide beam of light to counteract this effect. If your kitchen has ceiling mounted downlighters then you will need to find out what type they are - if they are fire rated (you can tell by looking up into the fitting and you will see a metal can), then you will need to consider the length of the lamp you are considering as some LEDs, particularly the high power ones, are longer than standard halogen lamps - the only LED's in our range that will fit ALL fire rated downlighters are the basic 21LED lamps but remember that these only offer light levels around the same as a 20w halogen lamp - if you have these fittings you can also consider the 7w compact flourescent lamps which offer higher light outputs.

A superb LED - based around an advanced LED from Sharp, this lamp produces a powerful light over an incredibly wide area thanks to it's 120degree beam angle. It's also shorter than some of the other high power lamps meaning it will fit more easilty into most downlighters, this is a real replacement for 50w halogen lamps. Brilux 6w High Power Spotlight
An extremely powerful lamp with a medium flood of 45degree offering slightly higher intensity light than the ZENIGATA but over a smaller area of approx 2m diameter. the light provided is around the same as a 50w halogen. Looks great in ceiling mounted fittings. May not fit all fire rated downlighters. Click here to view this product

Envirolight Medium Power All Purpose Lamp

This really is a first for LED lightbulbs - unlike all our other LED lamps these are constructed using 24 surface mounted diodes - in simple terms this means it looks like a standard lightbulb with an opaque front and gives a off a light approx equivalent to a 35w halogen but with a very wide (80degree) beam spread. This makes it perfect for general purpose lighting such as in a kitchen or lounge however it's not so good if you want to concentrate light into a particular space. Great, wide angle light output roughly equivalent to a 35w halogen. May not fit fire rated downlighters. Click here to view this product

38 Multi LED Economy Lamp

With 38 high output LED's and a reliable 350mA driver, these lamps offer good levels of light output at an economical price. The beam angle is 30degrees meaning you will see a concentrated pool of light approx 1.5m across when used at a normal ceiling height.
