Building regulations state that you must maintain the integrity of the roof to prevent the progress of fire - cutting a hole in the roof obviously breaks this integrity so unless you have anything else (such as a concrete floor) to prevent a fire speading, then you will need Fire Rated fittings to maintain compliance with building regulations. |
