We have a variety of 12v halogen light bulbs, if you are not too sure about the bulb you need then her is a quick guide!

12v spotlamps have two sharp pins at the base so you just push straight in to the light fitting, if you need to push and turn the bulb in to place then you have a mains version, the GU10!

The most common 12v halogen spotlamp is the MR16, the face of which is 50mm in diameter and the pins are 5.3mm apart.

The MR11 has a 35mm diameter and the pins are 4mm apart

The smallest being the MR8, with just 25mm across the face and pins being 4mm apart.

Our spotlamps are dichroic which means that the heat generated can pass back through the bulb rather than the aluminium reflector that reflects all the heat forward.

If you use your 12v spotlamps for long periods throughout the day, you may like to look at our low energy LED 12v series available in MR16 and MR11 formats. Whilst the capital out lay is higher than a halogen, the ongoing costs are extremely low and have life ratings in excess of 30,000 hours.

Remember that a 12v system is not a low energy system, the wattage rating of the light bulb determines the energy consumption.
