Living Rooms
When choosing a climate control system for your living room, we recommend that you allow approx 110 watts of cooling / heating power per square metre of floor space. This means that a 3.2kw system will be suitable for rooms up to around 29 m2 whilst a 5kw system will be OK for rooms up to 45 m2. You must always bear in mind that these figures will be affected by the number and size of windows - obviously if you have large south facing windows then you should either go for a larger unit or adjust your expectations as to how cool you want the room to be.Inverter systems are generally quieter and more economical as they have variable speed motors whcih automatically adjust to demand - they are however more expensive and do need professional installation.Courier delivery in most of the UK mainland is FREE!, however there is an additional charge to postcodes PA, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW, HS & BT - please call us for more information. |
Frequently asked questions
What size unit do I need? - Size really does matter - if the unit is too small it's a waste of time whilst if it's too big you will get temperature swings and the running costs will be higher than necessary. For guidance in a bedroom we suggest 100w per square metre
Obviously if the room has large south facing windows or lots of heat generating equipment then you should allow more cooling power.
Where do the pipes come out? - as standard they feed out from the back, however they can be routed out of the left or right hand sides if required.
Are they simple to install? - Any units marked as being suitable for DIY are straightforward - you need no special electrical skills as all cables are clearly numbered. The pipework uses standard compression fittings so just bolts together. The most difficult part is to cut a 70mm diameter hole in the wall for the pipes to pass through. Remember now that the nanny state says that after 1st July you cannot complete the installation yourself - you will need an engineer to connect up the pipe work and commision the system..
Are they economical heaters? - yes - the beauty of these unit is that they contain heat pumps which generate more heat than they use. For example a 3kw radiant electric heater consures 3kw power and outputs 3kw heat which is a coefficient of performance (COP) of 1 - our units have a COP of 3 that is for every Kw of power consumed they generate 3kw of heat saving you significant amounts on your heating biills.
What is the warranty - Fujitsu systems have 24month parts warranty provided they have been correctly fitted. All other systems have 12 months parts warranty. Please be aware that the warranty is a return to base not on site. In the event of a problem an engineer will diagnose the problem remotely and make arrangements for replacement parts or and engineer as appropriate.
Which gas does it use? - currently we use R410a which is environmentally friendly.
Can more than one internal unit be powered from 1 external unit? - no you will need 1 indoor unit for each outdoor unit. For Multi head units you will need to look at the Fujitsu range. Click here to view. |
